Combining exceptional productivity with attractive colouration, the Italian is an outstanding choice for backyard poultry enthusiasts, breeders and ornamental collections.

Exceptional Genetics & Colouration

The Italian colour variety is associated with the incompletely dominant Yellow mutation, which modifies the natural pigmentation of Japanese quail to produce its characteristic golden appearance.

This inheritance pattern makes the Italian particularly interesting for selective breeding, allowing breeders to explore colour expression and genetic variation across generations.

Standard Italian Coturnix are valued for their compact body conformation, efficient feed utilisation and excellent egg-laying capabilities.
