Jumbo White Coturnix Quail (Head Spotted)

Exceptional Layers | Ornamental & Breeding Stock

Scientific Name: Coturnix japonica
Colour Variety: Head-Spotted White
Size Classification: Jumbo

Discover the elegance of the Jumbo White Coturnix Quail (Head Spotted), a beautiful variety distinguished by its predominantly snow-white plumage and characteristic dark spot on the back or crown of its head. This subtle yet distinctive marking creates an attractive contrast, making these birds a wonderful addition to ornamental collections and backyard flocks.

Exceptional Genetics & Colouration

The Head-Spotted White phenotype is associated with inherited white plumage patterning, where most feathers lack visible pigmentation while a small, localised area of colour remains on the head.

The distinctive head spot may vary in size, shape and pigmentation depending on the bird's underlying colour genetics. This variation gives individual birds their own unique appearance.

Combining attractive white plumage with desirable Jumbo body conformation requires selective breeding, making these quails particularly appealing to enthusiasts seeking both ornamental beauty and productive characteristics.

Why Choose Our Jumbo Head-Spotted Whites?

• Distinctive Colouration: Elegant snow-white plumage complemented by a characteristic dark spot on the head.

• Exceptional Egg Layers: Productive hens capable of laying approximately 250–300 eggs annually under optimal conditions.

• Extended Productivity: With excellent nutrition and care, hens may remain productive for approximately two years, although egg production naturally declines with age.

• Not Feather Sexable: Males and females cannot be reliably distinguished by plumage colour or feather patterns. Accurate sex identification generally requires vent sexing once sexually mature.

• Wonderful Companion Birds: Their manageable size, engaging personalities and gentle appearance make them delightful pets for poultry enthusiasts.

• Jumbo Body Conformation: Selectively bred for larger body size, combining ornamental appeal with practical productivity.

• Versatile Breeding Potential: Suitable for breeders interested in maintaining white-plumaged Coturnix lines and exploring inherited pigmentation patterns.

An Elegant Addition to Your Collection

Combining distinctive white plumage, impressive egg-laying potential, Jumbo body characteristics and ornamental appeal, the Head-Spotted White Coturnix is an excellent choice for breeders, collectors and backyard poultry enthusiasts.
